Lightning Talk: Build a WordPress.org site for £5: April 24th 1-2

In this talk I am going to be guiding you through setting up a WordPress site on GoDaddy for as cheap as I possible can – target is £5 in the first month and then £2.99 per month.

I’m going to do absolutely no preparation for this talk so I can keep it raw!  I’ll be:

1. Creating an account on GoDaddy and buying a domain name and some hosting.
2. Setting up the WP site
3. Picking a theme and installing it
4. Setting up the SSL certificate
5. Talking about a few key tools:
   • Yoast SEO plugin
   • Security tools
   • Google Analytics
   • Google Search Engine console

I’ll also talk generally about WordPress plugins, themes and Jazz. Feel free to bring along your issues and I’ll do what I can to fix them.
